THE SITUATION
My Connecticut agency was a short 40 minute train ride to the greatest source of non-stop inspiration imaginable - New York City. But the problem was everyone’s lives are so busy. We all get into routine ruts — wake up, get dressed, commute to the office, work some magic, commute home, spend time with family and friends, and then repeat. We need an extra push to change up the routine in a quest for new inspiration, connection and sometimes just a good time.
THE SOLUTION
My friend and co-worker Amanda Santos and I are always looking for an excuse to wander the streets of NYC on a hunt for inspiration. We made regular trips to the city to check out different brand popup experiences, explore new store openings, and listen in on wisdom from a panel talk.
We loved to dream up crazy ideas on our late night Metro North rides back to Connecticut. So on the 90 minute ride home we mapped out an idea to get three different departments at our agency OOTO together for an evening field trip. A la - Night of Discovery was born.
A week later we pitched the idea to senior leadership, received overwhelming approval and were off to planning the entire evening in just under two months.

We spent three months working with our partners The Astronauts Guild and Lumen & Forge to help us bring our vision of a first-person 360 immersive dome film to life for the 2019 Winter X Games.
